They feel/look at the quality
Character Profiles:
Housewife
Maids
Working Adults
Students
Retired Elderly
Behavioral Mapping:
From the entrance to the other end of the entrance
Dry items to wet items
Most important items to the least importance
Aimlessly strolling until items draw their attention
Express Lanes:
Allows Single Basket
Longer queue than the normal lanes
Some consumers have items overflowing their basket
Normal Lanes:
Allows both trolleys and basket
We see more trolleys compared to baskets
Trolleys are hardly filled with items for some
What did you learn?
Fly on the Wall :
Consumers are picky, they like “Special Deals” items.
They look at the pricing rather than the branding of items.
They wouldn’t mind paying for good quality.
Character Profiles:
Housewife, usually shop alone and they do not carry any shopping list. They can be seen getting items from the most important to the least. Time is not of their essence.
Maids can be seen shopping with their employees.
For those shopping alone, they carry a shopping list and checked whatever items that the have got. They are always on look out for time.
Working Adults can be seen shopping with their kids, or family. They go in big groups whereby one will stay at the trolley while others scatter to get the items.
Students go in herds, price is more of an importance to them. They carry a shopping list because they have a budget to keep to.
Retired Elderly, can be seen carrying baskets. Usually alone.
Behavioral Mapping:
Depends on every individual. Some prefer to follow the layout of the place, while some prefer to narrow down to the items that is the most important.
What did it mean – your insights?
Every consumers have a different way of shopping regardless of housewife, working adults, families, or retired elderly. Every consumers seem to have a certain budget in mind, keeping a lookout to items which are a need or a want. Nevertheless, they try to limit their items. Some consumers buy in bulk to last them for over a period of time, while others keep it small. This could be due to the fact that they live near as we can see some consumers bringing their own trolley. Items that are on “Special Deals” seem to appeal to consumers more.

To me a good experience is something enjoyable and memorable. A good experience always starts with FUN , without fun there is no enjoyment and there will be no memories of it that we will keep. Friends and family adds on to a good experience because it takes hands to clap just like how two brains are better than one. In my opinion, one can have a good experience alone, like for example watching tv and so on. But the other hand, I prefer and experience whereby I am able to share and express myself to my friends.

100 words desciption on my experience
SLUMBER PARTY
Experiencing a slumber party with my bestfriends is enjoyable, we learned to bond together with more insight. We do the craziest stuff, one i thought I would never imagine myself doing. Also, there is better understanding amongst us. I learn the importance of a good friendship, it is not only about having fun but going through the process of understanding one another when we open up about personal issues, or even share our deepest darkest secret. This experience has made me grown closer to them, learn new things about myself as a person, what type of friend I am. This party is not only about having fun, gossiping about others but it’s about the friendship that we have shared throughout the years.

SCRATCH AND WIN
This experience is fun yet nerve racking at the same time, because I while i was scratching it, alot was going through my mind. Like how much will I win, am I going to loose. It’s tempting to know the amount you can win (which is alot). Yet again, I am quite stocked at what cheap thrills can do to us, it is so tempting to buy more just to win more. (I didn’t do so, cause my brother was a pest) I learned that money can buy excitement and thrills. On the other hand it’s a good experience for me, something I would do once because I’m not an avid gambler. It’s quite funny to laugh back and realize that while on the way to buy it I was smiling to myself the whole time (I didn’t realize it, until my brother actual snap me out). I realize the reason why people are avid gamblers, they are greedy at wanting more not knowing if they will actually get more, it is all in the name of LUCK !

SLUMBER PARTY
What Happened?
We (Tan, Wong, Mel, Nat, Shaunna, Emil) decided to have a Slumber Party. We had our schedule planned for 3 days 2 nights. First day, was a movie marathon night, Second day, was a trip to Sentosa. The last day is when we’ll get up when we can. We had a few ground rules, like no phones allowed!, Lights out at 12 am and No sneaking out!
How did I react?
I was thrilled and I was practically counting down to the days to Slumber Party.
What was my subjective response?
I sort of had a mixture of feelings, because I have a problem with the dark and I can’t sleep without my sister beside me. At the same time, I was kind of excited, because someone is going to get pranked in the night.
Was my experience likely to be intentional or designed?
It was designed… Well, we came up with this idea after watching one of the old chick flick movie called Slumber Party. Hence, the idea.
How does this experience affect what I think of the provider of the experience?
I have to say that we are quite smart to come up and think of this idea. I mean what a perfect way to bond together. Since our idea came up from a movie, i must say that the provider is someone who enjoy company of good friends and adventures all mixed in one. It’s all in the name of fun.
SCRATCH AND WIN
What Happened?
My brother wanted to buy 4D so he brought me along, and he introduced me to scratch and win. It cost $2 per ticket and i spent $20 on it. I won $19 out of it.
How did I react?
I was so EXCITED. I was literally jumping for joy cause I won $19.
What was my subjective response?
I won money but I can’t tell my dad about it because I didn’t ask for permission. If my dad finds out I’m screwed.( I had to beg him when i wanted to buy 4D for the fun of it. I don not gamble but I just enjoy experiencing new things in life)
Was my experience likely to be intentional or designed?
Intentional
How does this experience affect what I think of the provider of the experience?
I would say that my brother his quite innovative to think of cheap thrills that can either make you go WOO HOO Or BOOO HOOO. Either way, my brother is not showing me a bad example, it’s more like, he is widening my horizon in showing me all the things that can take us by suprise.
